Song of Frédéric Fromet: France Inter formal notice

Publication date: Tuesday, August 1, 2017
Plenary assembly of July 26th, 2017

The Council was received following the diffusion of a song of Frédéric Fromet black Humour and banderillas, diffused on France Inter on June 23rd, 2017, which related to the death of the bullfighter Ivan Fandiño at the time of a bullfight. The plaintiffs regarded the song as particularly offensive for the bullfighter recently deceased, his close relations and the amateurs of bullfight.

The Council estimated that the diffusion of this sequence, little time after the death of Ivan Fandiño and in spite of his humorous aiming, had legitimately been able to run up against the close relations of the victim. It raised that the fact of making fun - to be even delighted - death of a person under the laughter and the applause of the people present on the plate, had carried reached to its dignity, in ignorance of the above mentioned provisions of the law of September 30th, 1986 and the specifications of Radio France.

The Council thus put in residence the persons in charge of the radio to respect their obligations as regards human dignity.
