End of the French presidency in charge of the ERGA: two years assessment of mandate

Official statement of the Friday, January 8, 2016

The presidency ofOlivier Schrameck, president of the Superior council of audio-visual, in charge of the ERGA (European Regulators Group for Audiovisual Media Services) is completed at this beginning of year and it is from now on Madeleine de Cock Buning, vice-president of the ERGA and president of the regulatory authority of the Netherlands, which succeeds to him.

The ERGA was created following an initiative of Olivier Schrameck, who had as a principal ambition, during his mandate, to make of this group a recognized partner of the European Commission. The French presidency indeed particularly stuck so that the ERGA contributes effectively to the reflection carried out by the Commission on the European legal framework of the audio-visual one. At the era of digital, its adaptation is essential and the major stake, this year, is of launching the process of revision of the “Directive on the Services Audio-visual mediums”.

A press kit of presentation of the ERGA, which constitutes a more complete statement on the French presidency, is joined to this official statement.
