The legal framework of the digital radio

The terrestrial digital radio (DOADT)

The legal framework of the digital radio was set up gradually: the law of September 30th, 1986 modified by the law of the law of July 9th, 2004 fixed the principal legal elements of the RNT (calls for candidate, taken again numerically of the services authorized in FM: article 29-1 of the law of 1986). It was supplemented by the laws of March 5th, 2007 and March 5th, 2009.

The procedure of calls for candidate is copied on the calls out of analogical radio (deposit of the files, instruction and opinion of the CTA preselections, authorizations), while integrating a complementary stage relating to the authorization of the operator of multiplexing, legal person nonpresent in FM.

The technical norms of the RNT in France are set by the decree of the modified January 3rd, 2008, taken after opinion of the Council. The editors of services of RNT can thus use the standards Usually + and T-DMB. The DRM also appears among the standards concerned with the decree, but was not the object of a call for candidate until now.
