Offer and prospects

On digital terrestrial television

By Internet

Since 2009, competences of the CSA extend to the regulation from the services from audio-visual media to the request, including on Internet. The Council adopted in 2011 proposals for endorsements to conventions of the chains of the DVB for the associated data diffused on the connected television sets.

For the televiewers, the connected television sets open new prospects:

  • they give access, directly on the television set, with services such as Dailymotion or YouTube which were hitherto mainly available on screens of computers;
  • they facilitate the access to nonlinear offers (videos on demand);
  • they make it possible to the editors to propose contents who enrich or make interactive the television programs, in particular thanks to the HbbTV standard.
