Per hour when the connected television sets have to experience a strong development, on April 28th, 2011, with the museum of the Branly quay, the CSA organized a conference on the television connected to the Internet.

HbbTV (1), Google TV, Apple TV, Widgets (application icons), charter of the editors of the DVB… One more and more often speaks, in the audio-visual sector, of the “connected television sets”. A “suitable for connection” television set is a television set allowing a direct connection to the Internet (by Wifi or an Ethernet port) or indirect via U N case connected to the Internet (game consoles…). Internet then constitutes a new source of contents on the television sets.

According to Simavelec (2), in 2013, nearly 80% of the marketed television sets will be “suitable for connection”. With a penetration rate of the Internet high-speed of 75%, it is probable that in France, a substantial share of the television sets will be actually connected in the years which come.
