White paper “Reallocation of band 700 MHz: consequences on the cultural productions and of information “: answer to the organizations signatories

Publication date: Tuesday, January 14, 2014
Plenary assembly of November 20th, 2013

The Council answered the organizations signatories of white paper entitled Reallocation of band 700 MHz: consequences on the cultural productions and of information

These organizations are: the Federation of industries of the cinema, audio-visual and multimedia (FICAM), the Trade union of the international companies of trade in professional electronics (SEINEP), the Sympase trade union, the Federation of the companies of the live performance, the music, audio-visual and cinema (FESAC), Prodiss and the HD Forum.

This white paper, the Council retains, that after the loss of the band known as from the “800 MHz” at the end of 2011, the reassignment of band 700 MHz to the profit as of mobile networks would even impose to new adaptations, in certain cases, a complete renewal of the parks of audio equipment without wire of the professionals of the audio-visual sector and the live performance, carrying considerable financial consequences for the actors concerned.

These consequences would be moreover all the more deep as the calendar of release of band 700 MHz would be tightened. Under this assumption, the Council notes indeed that no palliative technical solution, at reasonable cost, to date seems identified to compensate for the possible loss of these frequency resources.
