The key objective of the experiments authorized by the Superior council of audio-visual on the DVB is to make it possible to the actors of the audio-visual sector to implement, under real conditions, services and features which are likely to be diffused thereafter in a perennial way. This experimental diffusion at all does not guarantee to the editors a future authorization of these services, nor does not prejudge a future Council Decision as for the relevance of such services or features on platform DVB.

Also sometimes by implementation a concrete on a geographical zone limited away from the principal basins of populations and after a phase of test in laboratory intended to guarantee their harmlessness on the existing receivers, these experiments allow the exploration of many technical sides, ergonomic, economic and make it possible to better apprehend the added-value which certain innovations for the terrestrial hertzian platform can represent.
