Coarse remarks in more beautiful series the “life” of France 3: answer to the plaintiffs

The Council was received by several televiewers about the frequent use of coarse remarks in the more beautiful series the life diffused on France 3.

The vulgarity of the language is part of the criteria being able to justify the affixing of a descriptive youth, according to the categories of programs defined in the recommendation of the Council of June 7th, 2005 relating to the descriptive youth and the classification of the programs

In the species, the Council raised the presence of recurring vulgar remarks in the diffused episodes January 8th and 13th, 2015 at 20:20. These episodes did not comprise the descriptive one. It nevertheless noted that the language employed came to illustrate certain issues of company covered in these episodes. Moreover, it did not concern image or scene likely to run up against some ten year old minors. Under these conditions, the Council considered that these two episodes remained within the limit of the programs of category I (“All public”), such as defined in the recommendation of the above mentioned June 7th, 2005.

For as much, he drew the attention of the chain to the need for taking care of the language employed in the public programs “All ” diffused on television, a fortiori when they are addressed to a family public and are diffused at prime time. The Council answered in this direction the plaintiffs.
