Decisions concerning the emission “Does not touch at my station”

Official statement of the Wednesday, November 23, 2016

The CSA, seized by very many complaints, decided, at the time of his plenary assembly of this day, to pronounce a warning and a setting in residence against the editor of the C8 chain relative to two sequences of the emission Touche not at my station

The warning statement relates to a diffused sequence on September 27th, 2016. The Council considered that the verbal aggression of the presenter against the one of the chroniclers constituted a lack of self restraint in the diffusion of such images likely to humiliate the people. The Council is also particularly worried about the repeated character of this kind of sequences and the effects of imitation that can induce near the young public.

The formal notice relates to a sequence of the emission Does not touch at my station: 35 hours of Baba, diffused on October 14th, 2016, during which a chronicler, highly encouraged by the presenter, embraced the chest of a guest in spite of the refusal clearly expressed by this one twice. The Council considered that this sequence ignored the provisions of article 3-1 of the law of September 30th, 1986, in particular by conveying prejudices sexists and by presenting a degrading image of the woman.

Lastly, the televiewers massively approached the CSA concerning a third sequence of this program, diffused on November 3rd, 2016, relating to the setting in scene of a crime allotted to a chronicler. The chief executive officer, noting that the chain had already been the object of a formal notice on the ground of the respect for human dignity, transmitted this information to the rapporteur independent in charge under the terms of the law of the decisions of commitment with the continuations and the instruction with the business, likely to lead to sanctions imposed by the Council.

The CSA will remain vigilant as for the respect, by the editor, of the human person and in particular of the protection of the young public in his emissions, including entertainment, so that are not standardized forms of physical humiliation, verbal or psychological.
